The Cleveland Tri Club will hold a Beginner's Practice Triathlon on Sunday June 10, 2012 at 8:00 AM. CTC invites all beginner triathletes to participate in this very informal event. This event is open for members and non-members of the Cleveland Tri Club. All are welcome! Here are a few things we will discuss and practice during the event:
1. Preparation for event- What you need to do before the race, and what you need on race day 2. Transition- How to arrange your area to switch from swimming to biking to running 3. Open water swimming- Very different than in the pool! (we recommend a wetsuit for Lake Erie in early June) 4. Bike Leg- Bike handling and etiquette 5. Brick run- Your legs will feel like bricks after riding a bike
We will have our Newbie Coordinator Tim Edwards and veteran triathletes on hand to answer any and all questions. Tim Edwards is a USAT certified coach. The event schedule is very loose and is as follows:
8:00 AM Arrival, Register and Transition help 8:45 Open water swim technique and practice 9:15 10 Mile bike ride (any bike is OK!, helmet required) 10:15 Brick run- about 2 miles 10:45 Final Discussion

I won't quite be a beginner by the time this rolls around (even though this is my first season), but I may come out just to meet some folks in the club.
