Elite 7783 PEI, Canada | Subject: RE: Flo Wheels Got my front FLO 60 late last week. I got out for a 1 hour ride with it on Saturday and I'm pretty happy with it!! I've never had a deep front wheel before so I have nothing to compare it to but I didn't find it any more difficult to handle in the winds than my regular wheel. It made more noise than I am used to but from what I gather it's normal noise. By the end of the 1 hour ride, I didn't even notice it any more. I can't wait to get it out for a race - possibly this weekend for a Du. |

16 | Subject: RE: Flo Wheels Just an update: I 've managed two rides of 15 and 25 miles (plus 1.5k open water swim, two pool sessions, a 15k and two 6ks, three core sessions) and lots of recovery if you're counting. I dont hear nothing but wind, unless climbing - then clunk doing disc . My wife and kids however hear the disc, motorbike - WHOOSSHHH depends on whos answering. Very stable, great rollup, little crosswind twitch more of a gentle pull ( Im 215lbs though), and I live in Central Pennsylvania. I managed 44 mph top speed tucked, and was more scared of being roadkill than anything having to do with these wheels-and I braked more than once to keep the drips in.....Average ride speed was in low to mid 20's...One of the best rides EVAAHHH though The sun setting over PA farmland while your blowing by horse and buggies - keep the tuck and breathe through the nose or your eating bugs by the breathfull!! They are slightly heavier than my "other" wheels I used to love EAston ea90's 1680gr vs 2100 for the flo60 and disc. and I guess I can feel it when climbing. Have Michelin Pro race 3 on now.Im 215 lbs, had the bike stocked with the flat kit, two bottles full of goods...so its a tossup with weight for me anymore. Any questions lemme know... Veteran 149 Toronto, Canada | Subject: RE: Flo Wheels My wheels JUST arrived today. Once my tires/tubes come in i'll post a report on what they are like.
Unfortunately I got hit with a $115 brokerage/customs charge by Canada Post. This is a heads up to other Canadians that order these wheels. I live in southwestern Ontario and shipped via USPS/Canada Post.

Elite 7783 PEI, Canada | Subject: RE: Flo Wheels The bento box is made by Darkspeedworks - he posts here regularly. It's a great product, highly recommended! I got hit by customs too with Canada post but only $47. $115 would have hurt a lot! How many wheels did you have? There were two in my order. |

I had 2 wheels as well. A 60 frong and 90 rear. My wife is the one who received it and they made her pay COD. Yes, $115 hurt. |

If you were be billed for customs, then from my understanding there has been a mistake. USPS and canada Post have a recipricol agreement of $5 customs fee for their customers. However, if you just paid the taxes then the fee makes sense. FLO would have had to declare the full value of the wheels and Canada Post would have billed you 13% in Ontario. I don't even remember what I payed for the wheels ($850?) So maybe it's taxes plus the $5 charge. So instead of being mad at customs...i'm pissed at paying taxes. I'll have to check the bill when I get home. Edited by 2paz 2012-06-11 4:39 PM |

Extreme Veteran 459 | Subject: RE: Flo Wheels dragonswing - 2012-06-07 6:44 AM Like the rim being silver on the outside where the spokes connect is visible from the cutout on the disc and it looks "cheap" esc. with the silver butted nipples. The inside of the rim purposely has the anodization removed. It actually starts completely anodized but is removed to increase the bond strength between the aluminum and the carbon fiber. Anodized surfaces are very very smooth and make for weak bonds. I agree that the small little section of rim that peaks through might look better black but we didn't want to risk bond strength. I hope that makes sense.
Take care, |

Extreme Veteran 528 Severna Park, MD | Subject: RE: Flo Wheels Got mine! Group 2, and I can't wait to race them this weekend. First impressions from a super quick 8 mile ride... Fast, and smooth. I think I liked the wide profile rims, I only ran about 100 psi, and they seemed smoother... THey are LOUD! sound like a freight train for those that care about those things. The build quality looks great, and as previous reviews have noticed, I bet the black brake track doesnt last too long... Adjusting the brakes wasn't that hard. I really appreciate the hard work the FLO brothers put into them, and getting to me in time for a race this weekend was the icing on the cake. |
