I use Blogspot. I have a friend that uses WordPress. Blogspot integrates pretty nicely with gmail and the other tools, but I've also heard good things about WordPress. I think those are the two most popular ones. PM me your link when you decide.

I am also a member of Team RWB, blogging and twitter are good methods of getting our message out there. Also, at the races I talk up Team RWB. The last small sprint I did I got 2 more athletes on board with Team RWB

Very cool. I think that's my plan for now and hopefully I can get some more support for the team.

Every local race so far this year I have been on the podium (AG or overall) wearing the team kit, I know that also gives us some exposure at the local level. Start small and local, I am working on become a Team RWB area director for South Coastal GA. You could start one up in your area too

That's awesome. Since I'm still in the military I need to see how long I'm staying in this area. My goal is local support now then work up to being an area director where ever I end up. How do I gain access to the team RWB forum?

A key thing for you, a very marketable asset, is your military association. The military has a massive internal media machine. That is a great place to market to. Some vendors, such as Oakley and New Balance, have specific government marketing departments. Hit those.

Now, there are some restrictions on using your government affiliation for marketing purposes. Different roles within the military have different levels of restriction. That said, some guys have been super successful.

The U.S. Navy developed a set of programs to support Naval athletes within triathlon and backed it up with a nationwide tour called the "Navy SEAL Fitness Challenge". It was predominantly a recruiting drive for qualified athletes backed up by a massive expansion of that part of the Navy.

Two athletes notably did the Ford Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona and were featured in the telecast- Dave Goggins and Duncan Smith. Smith actually played "himself" in a recent successful movie production called "Act of Valor" that is currently tracking top 10 in action DVD sales on Amazon. The Navy contributed heavily to the production of the movie.

There are huge opportunities for marketing yourself within the military. It just takes work. Keep it up, and thanks for serving. Appreciated.
