Low End Bike Shopping for My Wife (Page 2)

I had not been on a bike in 30 years and was looking to get into tri's.  I looked at the LBS and found the Specialized Vita and got it right away.  I just loved it!  I really liked the straight handlebars.  Very easy to switch gears (I was use to just 3 gears).  But after my a season of tri's - concluding with the Augusta 70.3, I decided to get a road bike.  I was able to tradeup at the same bike shop. I now have a Specialized Dolce Sport.

My times are better in the tris but it is probably because I also went from platform pedals with cages to clipless pedals.  I really, really miss my old Vita.  BTW, after I got my bike I went in a week later for something and my old bike was already sold!

I think your wife will really enjoy the Vita.
