It's been a long time since my last bike, I would like to get fitted for a Tri-bike...does anyone know of some knowledgeable shops who can fit tri-bikes in the Akron/Cleveland area?

I do nto in Akron/Cleveland area, but if you ever get south of COlumbus, there is an excellant LBS shop in Lebanon that can do everything you would need.  All of the people in the shop are religious riders/tri  and one is very competitive.  THe name is Wheelie-Fun.  I know it is a long way to go for a bike shop, but they do excellant work and I am sure you know how important it is to get a proper fit.

They are a FIST certified shop

Bike Authority is a sponsor the Cleveland Tri Club.
Eddy's is supposed to have the largest showroom in Ohio.

I haven't done business with either, so I can't personally vouch for either.

If you were looking for a road or mountain bike fit I would send you to Century Cycles in Medina in a heartbeat. Great guys very helpful.

Good luck--post your fitting experience.

Bike Authority it is then. I will be making an appointment.  Thanks everyone.  Although I was looking forward to going to Columbus and having a few good beers.

I have heard nothing but good things about FIST fitting.  I have always thought Eddys was more of a 'family' bike shop...but this was long ago, maybe they are catering to athletes more and more...

Eddy's in Stow was a nice selection of high quality tri-bikes, but Bike Authority carries the same brands and is FIST certified.

Besides I had a negative experience at Eddy's and truthfully wouldn't send someone there on purpose.

Just a note... Bob or Kyle from Wheelie Fun are usually at the HFP races (its hard to miss the Wheelie Fun truck usually parked close to the transition area).

Just catching up on the postings---I got my Merlin from Sherman at Bike Authority. Complete fit etc. He did a great job and gave me a great deal. Hope you connected with him. Pat in Columbus

Cycle Sales in Boardman, Ohio is another good place for Tri bikes.  Jim Ferraro is an experienced Triathlete and is awesome at setting up bikes.  http://cyclesalesco.com/index.cfm
