Subject: RE: Poconos 70.3 I did the race last year (inaugural year), and it was a bit of a mess. It had been storming all week, which caused the swim to be cancelled. Also, parts of the bike course hadn't been paved in time, so the course was cut short and re-routed. The bike was very tough with a couple of steep climbs and very technical turns after screaming downhills. We also had to ride "English lefts" at times. I did not enjoy it to be honest. The run isn't too bad but has some inclines, nothing too steep from what I remember. However, from what I understand the swim has been moved to a Lake this year to avoid cancellation, and the bike course has changed. I remember it raining very hard the morning of the race and the temperature being in the 50's/60's. I think the race was pushed up a week this year, not sure if that changes things much. |
