Running near St. Albans

My dog and I are staying in St Albans for the next three nights, and we are interested in continuing our morning runs. I wouldn't run by myself on the road where we are staying (narrow, winding, heavily traveled), let alone with a curious dog. Any suggestions on a place in/around St. Albans we could drive, park, and put in a couple of miles?Thanks in advance.
