My final race of the season is this saturday. Only a quick sprint race to finish off the season, but it is literally right along the coastline. Forecast is: temps upper 50's to lower 60's , windy, and rainy.

I have rode this course a number of times and there are two sections that open up to the exposed ocean/coastline where the cross winds coming around the harbor bend can get pretty strong.

Risk it on the two areas with a disc cover or remove the thing completely?

Thought?

I'd remove it with wind and rain.  Is it worth risking a crash for the time that could be saved with a disc cover for a sprint race?

If that's you in your profile pic I'd use it. Especially if you have a slightly deep front wheel.

Personally, I'd race it if I had it, but I'm "dense" on the bike (5'8" and ~165), so not as concernced about wind moving me around...

Complete non-sequitor, but is your profile pic of the Mayflower tri by any chance?  Just curious (ran it this year and it sure looks like the Mayflower in the background!).

Yep thats the Mayflower race. That photo is from two years ago though, prior to my weight loss journey. Guess I should update my profile pic huh.
