Five kilometers, six PRs!!

Extreme Veteran  544   Shawboro, NC |  Subject: Five kilometers, six PRs!!Dropped my kid off this morning at the Camden County, NC, "Dismal Day at the Swamp." They had a 5K "fun run." Registration was free, so I got in on it. I had my gear with me as I intended to run the trail anyway, while my kids was working an exhibit with his scout troop. Anyway, it felt pretty good. My friend Ludwig was in my ear and kept me cruisin'. I did walk a little, but only for about a total of 5 minutes. I use Strava to track my mileage, and this run was no different. It also tracks performance and tells you when you've set a PR for various distances during the run. I nailed SIX today: 400m (1:50), |

They're either really good or really bad, either way its a good story! Congrats btw! I wouldn't call it a race per se. There was a timer, but it started when the yelled "GO!!" I was one of the very first people to leave, so it was pretty accurate for me. They didn't have chips, so you had to keep track of your own time. Still, it was fun, and there were a couple guys who I tried my best to catch. Didn't do it, but I'll settle for the 6 PRs! ransick - 2012-10-20 2:51 PM Congrats on the PRs! That's awesome. Thanks! |
