Picked up packet, had a gel, walked around and chatted with my friends.

Comments:

Tough course - had forgotten just HOW tough! For someone used to everything being relatively flat, this was a wake-up call. I'm not in good race shape yet, and it really showed. Kept a good pace the first two miles, and then kind of fell apart. Ended up walking up the big hill, even.
What would you do differently?:

Train better. Run more hills. Start racing earlier in the season.
Post race
Warm down:

Get some water, chill out for a couple minutes, then ran in one friend who did a stellar 29:30 run, and then went and ran in my other friend.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Training.

Event comments:

GREAT pig roast afterwards!! Food was awesome! Lots of mix-ups with the raffle prizes, though - they did it a new way and there was a whole lot of confusion. That said, this was a well-run race and the perks definitely made it worthwhile.
