That's my plan anyway, right now.  Anyone else planning on joining me on the the fun on the mountains hills of Lake Placid next year?  Now I just need to learn how to better handle riding hills on my bike (where I live is basically flat so I can't ride any real hills during most of my training rides)   Fortunately, I live close enough to drive up there for a long training weekend or two.

4th IM distance race, 3rd IM LP for me(doing Moo in 75 days). Missed signing up for this year by an hour so either me or someone I'll trust will have my CC and active.com account info at registration opening time.

BTW, I've already started the race nexus link for the race reports for IM LP 2007 and have had hotel ressies since last fall. This isn't a maybe, I AM doing IM LP 2007.

I'll be living less than 2 hours from LP from August until mid-July next year doing clinicals except for 6 weeks in GA in March-April(totally planned- just when getting really sick of being up north, riding the trainer, and running in 3 layers, go south for 6 weeks). I'd be willing to meet people there for training weekends and provide a slightly experienced view of the course as I'll be training on it frequently. IM Moo may be less than 11 weeks away but the one I'm really excited about is LP.

Bring check or cash...in the past they were not accepting credit cards, so I don't know if that policy has changed.

That being said, I also hope to sign up again for my 3rd IMLP.

I'm going up to lifeguard this year's race and may have to pull the trigger come Monday morning.  Or I may just chicken out

I'll be registering on the 'net from here in WI. Kind of weird thinking about registering for my second IM before I even finish my first (IMWI '06).

Ahhh, duh I knew that after I posted it, but for some reason my brain told me you were going to be at Lake Placid that morning.  Shows you what happens at 12:30 AM when I'm half in a fog.  Of course my wife would say that time makes no difference!

Thinking, thinking, thinking... I need a green light from the SO first. Not meaning to hijack, but how quickly does the race sell out? Do you need to be poised over the keyboard the moment it opens (at 8? 9? 10AM the day after the race)?

I'd love to join you all!

Maybe not poised over the keyboard, but I'd be prepared to do it before noon time.

I'm at about 90%. Planning to make the trip up there for the race with Mrs. The excitement/atmosphere up there will probably push us over the edge to 100%!

I'm going to try...it's between LP and Moo...both are equidistant from my house, so its just a matter of pushing the button.

I'm seriously thinking about it but I need to talk a few local suckers friends into doing it also. The only problem I can see with IM LP is that it's still a little early in the year. After CDA this year, I realized that June is definitely too early to get in the necessary bike miles outside for me to ride like I'd want to. LP is in July but that only gives me another 4 weeks of good riding weather. That means I either have to go for a later race or really put in the time on the trainer.

As to signing up at the venue, I think they changed policies this year. If LP is like CDA, then it's now check or credit card ($20 processing fee) only. IOW - No cash???? It seemed like they had a couple of laptops set up at a table the morning after the race that were hooked up to the web via a wifi connection. The person at the table then entered the info for you on the Active.com website. Double check if you're going to the venue but I think that it will probably be similar.

Aw, c'mon.  I'm a local sucker triathlete planning on doing LP.  The rides don't really have to get very long until April.  Weather may not be ideal then, but it's usually not so bad either.  If you wait for Moo, you have to do long rides/runs through July & August.  Weather's no better then (for different reasons). C'mon, you know you want to.

Add me to the list.  Me and 3 buddies are going to do it.  I also live in an area where the biggest hill is desribed as an overpass.

JohnyKay - If I don't do IM LP then I think I would save some $$$$ and do the Chessepeakeman instead. That said, I think I'm going to do it. I think what killed my biking prep time this year was trying to get ready for BRR in April. I was doing so many running miles (about 100 mpw) that I didn't really have any time or desire to hop on the bike or hop into the pool.

I emailed the Ironman USA office to ask specifically what time the online registration for IM USA 2007 begins. Response was "On site and online at 9:00 AM local race site time the day after the race."

To register online what is the website to go to and how much is it again? I'm looking forward to register almost as much as my HIM this weekend.

I think most (all?) of the Ironman online registrations use Active.com and there probably will be a link to it on the race website.
