Was wondering is anyone had some recommendations for a double stroller?

Yes, a couple months ago we got a Chariot stroller from REI.  It's terrific. It's to run with. You can buy a bike attachment as well.  We're very happy with it. It's a bit pricey though. \\

We've got a thrice-owned mountain buggy that's still going strong after 5 years with us and who knows how many years with the other two owners. It has 4 wheels, the front wheels are the same size and swivel. That way, you don't have to pop wheelies with 70 lbs of kid to go around a turn.

I have a chariot. I had a single, loved it. Sold that when #2 came along and bought a second hand (double) one off Craig's list. I kept the strolling wheels on it and just used those to run with. I have 3 kids, pretty close in age, and have been able to run with all 3 in there at times. I just love that stroller. Lots of miles on it and it is still in awesome condition. Another thing that's super cool about the chariot is that it comes with an infant sling attachment that allows an infant over the age of 1 mo. To ride safely. AND it's all enclosed. So when it's hot, there's a screen and sunshade. When it's cold, the sunshade tucks in back for greater insulation and the rain cover goes over the screen. Makes it really cozy for the kids. Sorry to gush. But it's like my number one most used, most worth the money baby gadget we owned. (Second would be a Mei tai baby carrier.)

We have a double BOB "sport utility stroller."  It has many many miles on it and still going strong.  Our son is almost 5 so he's starting to get too tall.  Good thing we just had our 3rd so the BOB will still see plenty of use Cool

Also have a BOB revolution single which is nice.

Another vote for the chariot.  I got the single long ago then the double as well, about time to retire my double as soon as I get one more on a bike.  I've easily got 1,500 miles on the double mostly running, probably right around 500 on the single mix bike/run and never had an issue some WD40 or a tire repair kit didn't fix. I don't recommend the double as a bike trailer if you plan on doing any speed at all, sucker will destroy your bike. Also make sure if you're doing a 10 mile run loop you bring a spare tube and tire just like on your bike...don't ask me how I know.

Also what they want for the new chariots is ridiculous, they always pop up on CL though and it's not like they get worn out.

On the spare tube note- it only takes one flat, then pushing a stroller while carrying kids to never want that to happen again. Lol
We have thorny seeds here, and I found out the hard way that they make thorn resistant tubes for the stroller wheels. I would really recommend replacing the standard tubes with the thorn resistant ones as well.

Hi FFDewey, Before buying and stroller first you have to research on it.I have searched on Google and found two retailer stores. They are awarded for selling best quality products. In double stroller you can see Maclaren 2012 Twin Techno Double Umbrella Baby Stroller and Bumbleride Indie Twin Stroller. You can also follow these two stores:

Which ever stroller you get be sure to get this. It allows you to run hands free and use your normal stride and arm movement.

http://www.perfectlysafe.com/strollsmart.html (I am recommending the product not the specific vendor)

For the jogging strollers I like the ones with the fixed front wheel compared to the ones with the front wheel that can move and you need to lock in place. A lot of them seem to be aimed at parents who would rather been seen with a jogging stroller in the mall rather than running with it.

I use to have a cheap double that could be used as a bike trailer and jogging stroller it was not a great stroller. It worked fine as a trailer. I also had a jogging stroller that you could use the infant seat in it that was a nice. It had the front wheel that you needed to lock into place Now we have a dedicated stroller (fixed front wheel) and trailer neither of which are double (finding a single trailer is actually harder) but they seem to do a better job than the multi tasker. You will not need the trailer until they are around 1 and can hold their head up with a helmet.

Loved our BOB double Dualie for runs.  Very safe and very comfortable to run with!  Bought it from REI.  You should "test drive" some different models if you have a store close by that sells strollers.

Thanks for the replys. We looked at a stroller/trailer and didn't like it. My wife wants one that the front tire swivels for when she walks. We weregoing to look at a couple stores but wonder what everyone on here liked.

We have the bob and love it did 10.5mile last week with it. Little more difficult on hills and pushing weight nice to run though. I recommend. The one with the front wheel you can lock in place or have in the swivel mode best of both worlds.

We have a double BOB. Running with it is great, it moves and maintains its momentum very well, pushing the kids is pretty much effortless, until....

you start running into ANY kind of wind.  Then, it's horrible.  It has a really wide profile, even for a double stroller, and there is basically zero ventilation in the back so it just turns into a giant resistance machine.

I LOVED our Phil & Teds when our kids were little! I ran with it all the time & when our oldest went off to school, I could take off the one seat & use it as a single. It doesn't have a brake, but for me it was never an issue. Also, I was much more of a fan of the front/back vs. the side/side combo, especially since our kids were different ages (thought a side to side would feel unbalanced) & we used it all the time, so the narrowness was much easier to maneuver. I am short though, & if you have a long stride, the double seat might be an issue.

The new Chariot Chinook has a swivel wheel.  It looks nice but really pricey.

Got to throw my vote in for the Chariot! we have a single and are very very happy with it. Works really well in the cold and snowy weather too, not sure if that is an issue for you. Also you can buy stroller wheels for when you are just walking or shopping, and then throw the jog wheel back on for your runs! Also has ski attachments for snowshoeing x-country skiing, the thing literally does everything! look for one used with all the attachments already purchased. We got ours half price, and the tires still had the knobbies on them!!
