Subject: Hilton or BW Coastline for B2B?

Looks like rates are about the same for both the Hilton and the Best Western Coastline in Wilmington. For those that know the new B2B course and/or Wilmington, which would you recommend?

We've stayed at Sunspree before but there is a small chance I may have to travel solo at the last minute, so we're looking at something near the finish for this year just in case.

DH might also appreciate a room to rest in this time around, instead of standing about for hours.

Thanks.

I have stayed at the Best Western before (over a long weekend) and it was nice and short walk over to the riverwalk area.   Not sure about proximity to the race site though.

Best Western.  Very convenient to Packet Pickup, T2, Finish, and morning shuttles.  Also, if you get a room on the backside of the hotel, you have a view of the first portion of the run course.

ETA:  T2 (Convention Center) is where you will recover your transition bags and bike after the race.

DH needs to stand...he is supporting you and anything less is an insult to your sacrifices (Tongue out). Make your goal to make him as tired or more tired than you! Thats what I did my first B2B...my wife chased our two boys around all day while being 7 months pregnant! Made for a long day for her...oh, and my race was pretty tiring too! :-) I'm just kidding. I dont have anything that is actually constructive to add :-)

Yo that's no joke! In 2009 my wife got into NYC marathon (and of course since it was my idea, I didn't get picked).  I drug my 3 year old daughter at the time all over NYC, including all the way to Brooklyn (from Union NJ) just to get a few glimpses of momma running).  Even more shocking was we actually saw her at three different places.  It was non-stop go go go  including a couple laps around Fao Schwartz and the 3 story Disney Store which ending in crying because Dad wouldn't buy the 30ft stuffed animals.  I was wiped and would have gladly traded places with my wife! I will say they kiddo was more tired than both of us as she passed out cold on the Path back to Jersey.

LOL, thats awesome! Nice job spectating- you did your job well! Yeah, my son (4 at the time) fell asleep on the sidewalk once and then again in line for the water taxi after the race. Its hard work, this spectating stuff :-)

I reserved a room at the BW after advice from a lot of people here.

We should all have a meet up the day before!

We're going to stay at the Sunspree again...it was a pleasure to be there, the kids and wife loved the convenience (the kids loved the pools and hot tubs, and the only inconvenience was getting the wife to pick me up after the race to get back to the Sunspree.

I love the Sunspree as well- had a great stay there and like d00d said, the only bad part is needing a ride back after the race. But it is very convenient to the start and to T1 setup. But the best part of it is stalking d00d's family.
