Valverde out of the race. Wrecked and is now out of the race.

Yes, Alejandro Valverde of the Balears Team is out; he may have broken his collar bone.  Stuart O'Grady seems to have been cought in the same spill that got Valverde out of the running.  Poor Stuart was struggling up that last climb long after the main peloton crossed the finish line. 

Eric Dekker of Rabobank and Fred Rodriquez of Davidamon-Lotto both also pulled out due to injuries, possibly broken collar bones.
