Good morning BT!

4:15am:  8.5 mile run: 1 mile WU/10X800m @ 10K pace w/400m recovery jogs in between/cool down

Heading 110 miles west for a writing training today...booo for meetings!  I'd rather be with my kiddos in my classroom.

Have a great day, train hard!

Switched up from a morning speed (9x400m's) run and an afternoon 90' ride to an evening speed run (same plan) and a mile steady swim after.

It's tempting to go all roadie as the temps crack the 40's and there's sun, but I'm hoping to drill a 10k in a few weeks and am holding back to 3-4 rides per week or I'll not be able to hit my key run workouts (like speed!).

Ah, such good problems to have!

Have a great day BT!

Matt

Swimming again this morning, 1200m containing 100m wup, 2 x 100m fast, 500m main , 2 x 100 fast, 200m cool down.
First time doing more than 200m in a set and timed it at 10mins 45secs.
Wanna try and get that down to 10mins per 500m before race in 4 weeks.

Turbo session followed by Abs and upper body strength training tonight.

Kim, I would DIE doing 10 X 800m at 4:15 AM (actually, probably any time before 8 AM; after that, I'd die of heatstroke).  Unbelievable!

65 minute sweatfest AKA run with some strides here at 7 AM; could wring everything out by end. (Starting earlier doesn't help--it's even more humid before the sun comes up.)  Later 2600m of swimming. Wanted to take a nap, but the jackhammer crew that's been at work for the last two days downstairs moved on to the building just across from me, and my apt. is still vibrating eight hours a day. So much for a quiet, peaceful spring break of solid training and recovery naps!

4.57 mile run this afternoon in 43:42. Temps hitting 70 here in Afghanistan, perfect running weather for me.

2.5 five miles... at 10:31 per mile. One of my slowest days in a while. I think I really shouldn't have run. I had a huge training day yesterday which include 4.85 miles at sub 9:00 pace which is my 5k pace.

Moral of the story, I can't run all out every day.  Sad realization.

12pm 40min run focusing on mid foot , under z2

630pm 1.5hrs: 15min wu, 4 x 5' at threshold with 90" recoveries, 50' Z2, 10' c to the d, followed by home made pizza...for some reason the gut just wont go away - ha!

Was not looking forward to the 5' thresholds but pulled some magic and stayed strong!  See if there's magic tomorrow ;0)

Tracker09 - 2013-03-27 8:27 PM What time do you 4:15 AM run people go to bed?

10-11 or so usually. Coffee has become a good friend of mine. I also take good care of my muscles as in to not strain them throughout the day so they can recover as much as possible, since I don't sleep much.

I just came back from a 58mi bike/2mi brick run and feel great. Absolutely nailed nutrition

I usually end up taking a 15 minute "power nap" around 7:30 and then go back to sleep around 9.

But the good news is that your previous 5k pace is now closer to your 10k pace!

Silver lining...
