No swim and a short run. I expect a lot of PRs in Lawrence.

The "no swim" must be an inside joke I missed.

I too was wondering how that could be 6.2 miles when the Sprint (2.5 miles) doesn't turn around until after the halfway point...I'm pretty good at math, but didn't have to be to figure that one out.  Maybe they intended for it to be a 2 lap run?

I mapped it on mapmyrun and it's 5 miles, assuming the run stays on the campsite paved roads.  I left a question on the 5150 FB page.

And this just popped up on the facebook page:

ATTENTION: The admin person (me) misunderstood the Race director and created the incorrect map for the run portion. Sorry about the inconvenience.. I am updating it currently and will be posted by this afternoon. It will be a one lap 3.1 mile run for the Sprint and a two lap 6.2 mile run for the 5150. Thanks!

I looked up ITU wetsuit rules to get some perspective. Below 57F, wetsuits are required. Above 68, not allowed. I realize this is USAT and not ITU, but if ITU has a "wetsuit required" policy at 57F, I'm thinking that anything above that, we would be good to go with the swim?

My logic may be flawed. I'm just trying to hold out hope for a swim.

And I can't believe the fiasco with the run course. How hard is it? I think all of us could tell by looking at it that what they sent us last night was not 6.2 miles.

ETA: I also wonder if this means that we are stuck running back up that hill to the campground for the finish line. Unless they take us back out on the road for an extra half mile out and back, I'm not sure how they can get 6.2 miles running in that campground, even twice, without making it incredibly confusing.
