Sorry you're not getting responses, but don't take it personally. It means that people around here aren't doing Ultra cycling events, that's all. At least they are getting read! Most of the people in this forum post about ultra running, and it's still not a very busy forum.

Agree with Comet..this group isnt real active Ive had 70 views on the Beast of Burden which is a 100 mile run without a response..before my first 100 I posted a thread looking for help in what to pack and had one person post some suggestions and another asking if I ran it yet a couple days before and it had 406 views now...if you are on FB look for groups on related things...I have found so many great ultra running and endurance groups on there that are very active and helpful!

Sorry to send you somewhere other than BT, but I agree, I get MUCH better repsonses and help for these types of events on FB. There are so many race specific & state & local pages of ultra runners and cyclists!

You should also try to post these in the state specific forums. We talk about RAMROD/STP pretty regularly in the WA forum.

One slight problem. I don't know how to swim at all. When I say 'at all', I don't even dog paddle because I am scared to death of water. But I am going to do this.

Have a goal when you get into the water. If your purpose is distance, then set your pace for endurance. If your objective is speed, then incorporate drills.
