Any one watching? New series on HBO starring Woody Harrellson and Matthew McCongahey?

I have seen the first two shows and I am still on the fence about it. Some pretty deep and weird characters already.

I watched the first episode last night and recorded the second.  I'll give it a few episodes before I decide if it's worth watching.

I've watched both and I'll give this season a shot because of the 2 lead actors. The interviews with Rust from present day are really good. I think thats probably the best part of the series for me. And I think the season to season variety will be cool.

Crazy to think that all of that is supposed to be way before Katrina Louisiana. They are in some pretty rough spots.

I've been watching - show seems to be on a slow-burn while the backstories are getting fleshed out but I predict the arc ends in quite an explosion of violence.

I watched episode 2 last night. I think Matthew McConaughey  Woody Harrelson are doing excellent work and the story is has been focused on character development (and doing it well) so far. Definitely building toward something big and intense, if it can deliver it should be something special to watch.

Great show. MM should get an Emmy for this. The writing is solid and with a one season story arc will not allow for it to wear itself out. It takes a lot for me to watch a show when the episode first airs.

I watched the first episode and haven't gotten to the second one yet. Hard to tell where it's going yet, but I really like the cast and the vibe. It's got a little bit of a David Lynch (Wild at Heart, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks) feel to it, which I really like, whether it's intentional or not. It's that sort of "there's something creepy going on under the surface, but I'm not sure yet what it is..." feeling that "American Horror Story" is also going for but doesn't quite do as well.

McConaghey and Harrellson are both terrific. If you told me back in the 90's that Woody Boyd from Cheers and Wooderson from Dazed and Confused would turn out to be two well-regarded American actors twenty years later, I would laughed at you.

Yeah I was about to give up on it until last Sunday. It finally got interesting to me and now I want to see where it goes!

Still watching. Episode 4 ended with a bang (as well as a complex ~6 minute long uncut tracking shot, which is pretty amazing if the director's claims are true). I'm sure the action was a welcome change for those struggling with the slow pace of the first 3 episodes.

Acting, writing, directing, cinematography are all top notch. I'd rank it up there with The Sopranos and The Wire with the potential to outshine both of those if the final 4 episodes are a good/better than the first 4.

I'm interested to who will star in next year's storyline.

Awesome.  We're just finishing "The Wire"   What a great show.  Will have to see if I can get my hands on this one, or if it is showing here in China/Asia.   Sometimes we get the shows over here, sometimes not.

This show has gotten really interesting to me, it started off really slow for the first 3 episodes IMO.

If you haven't checked out darknessbecomesyou.com yet, it's worth it.  It has recaps of episodes in which I learned subtle things missed during the regular showing.  I went back to episode 1 and watched the recaps through episode 5.

We are still watching--can't stop. Stirs up deep dark human issues, difficult for me to sleep afterward.

Hard to see how they'll top the performances of Matthew & Woody in subsequent series.

What did people think of episode 6 last night? I thought it made a lot of progress in plot progression, but seemed too "normal" in that it lacked the darkness and surrealism that has been so prevalent so far. Still very solid, but more along the lines of a more familiar procedural crime series.

Two more episodes to see if they pull off a strong ending or leave us with a let down like Lost.

I agree that the episode was not all that suspenseful, but it is definitely building up the tension from all sides.  I suspect the final two episodes will be thrilling.

One more episode to go. Last night's installment I would grade as solid, but not exceptional. Seems like many viewers are restless, worried the final episode is going to disappoint. It would take a really horrid ending for me to be disappointed overall and I'm holding out hope for greatness as they wrap things up.

I thought this week's episode was well done.  Starting to put a bunch of pieces together.  I really liked to interaction between Marty and Rust - starting with Marty flirting with the idea of killing Rust and ending with Marty and Rust working together as they hadn't before.  That video had to be horrendous for Marty to make such a 180.

Looking forward to the final episode.

Really, just murder him? Never entered my mind. I thought the gun was for self defense.

Yeah I agree with the self defense thing more than I do with Marty killing him.

There seems to be a lot to tie up in only one episode! Especially if it is only an hour!

I hated the finale. I wish they would have explained more, or did they and I missed it?

Typical finale for HBO IMO

My back wheel needs to be trued up. It has a slight side-to-side wobble, and I feel at times like I'm going to lose control when I ride. Is this something that I should only trust to my LBS to do?
