On the eve of the Tour of Sufferlandria I have a question.

Are there issues with doing the majority of winter bike training as high intensity, such as from The Sufferfest line of videos?

I still get plenty of ‘easy’ training from running and swimming, but due to the nature of the trainer and my hate for it, I can’t bring myself to do long, low intensity efforts during the winter on it.

Yes.  There are issues.  You could get faster.

Seriously, as long as you can handle the intensity (within workouts and from one workout to the next) then it should be very good for your riding.

Many of us do not enjoy the ‘pleasures’ of training on a stationery trainer. “Boring”, ”mind-numbing”, “a drag” are three phrases often associated with indoor trainers.
