Subject: RE: 5.9.14 Yahoo! It's Friday! It's got to be the monitor--if your HR really was 242 you would be near death! I'm assuming if you kept running for the next 50 minutes you actually felt normal. Are you outside or on the treadmill? When I'm running or biking outside, the monitor consistently malfunctions in a few places along my run/bike routes. I can only assume this is because of some kind of electrical interference. (There are wires everywhere in Saigon, some of which are probably amateur hookup jobs, so this isn't surprising. ) I often bike in a port area, so maybe there is some kind of navigational signal that it picks up. It is always at the point where I'm closest to a turn in the river, and there's some kind of beacon there.
If inside or it isn't always happening in the same location, could be a number of things like poor contact of the sensor with your skin (I had one that would lose contact because the strap was too loose ), skin/monitor strap too dry (also had one that I had to smear with water before starting in cool weather ), cold temps outside, etc. I'd check the manual or website and try what they suggest, or call the service number.
Only one workout today for a change: One hour trainer ride at 5:15 AM, 3 X 10 minutes hard. AC really wasn't up to much and I think I set a world sweat record. Actually went to get another fan with 20 minutes to go as really thought I would puke/melt. Ready to start taper! |
