Have come down with a nasty cold, and the bee/wasp sting I recieved in my neck on the bike ride last weekend at Tenby is still itching like hell and feels hot. Feeling rather lethargic today.
Darren I hope you are feeling better. Don't put the lethargy all down to a cold I believe that insect bites and stings can have this affect as your body fights the poison that has been injected into it. Take it easy for a bit.

Yes, ditto what Stacey said.  I'd have thought the itchiness from the sting would've calmed down/healed by now.  Hope you feel better soon, take care!

Any word from Yanti on the record attempts?

I've admittedly been mostly MIA and might have missed it.  Hope to be able to check in over the next week as we make our way to Austin over what now begins to feel like the longest (time-wise) move in history!  Just keeps dragging on…  But, the house is 90% packed and 10% loaded on the truck - to be finished and on the way tomorrow - and we just put our two trucks on the carrier to send them on their way.  So, we're getting there!  (I know, sooooooooo interesting to y'all, right?  I'm even sick of me, at this point!).

The only thing that really sux about the move is that my bikes are now packed and I won't see them for over a week.  AAAARRRGGHHH!!!!

OK, might not be able to post as much for a bit, as we're about to pack the computers up and

Warning:  WHINE!!

I've been MIA because I managed to tweak my neck during my OWS on Saturday, then got really bounced around on my long ride Sunday.  Went home from work early with migraine symptoms I've had since my ride, got a massage, and am still not feeling much better.  Going to the chiro tomorrow in hopes that he can wrench me back into shape.  I'm thinking about getting a seat post that can absorb more road vibration than my CF one, if such a thing exists.  Also going to get a new seat because mine's getting really uncomfortable the longer my rides are.

Matt, loved your computer comment - totally made me laugh.

Darren, between the bee/wasp sting and a cold, I don't blame you for feeling lethargic.  Take care and heal up soon.

Yanti and Kingsley, of course you did it, you Super (Neon) People!!  Congrats on your new world record.  You two are  A-MAZE-ING!!

Anybody been following this thread in Tri Talk?  It's laugh-out-loud funny.  http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=520216&posts=26&page=1

Melanie seemed to have a good morning

Race was not what I wanted, but what I expected. Swam worth crud, biked well, ran worse than crud. Not whining or complaining, that is just how it is right now. Then pulled a hamstring at the company softball game.  I have a LOT of work to do by the end of August.

Sometimes we need a good whine (or wine) and this group is the safe supportive place to do it.

Thanks for the thread link.  Gave me a laugh. I don't know that I make noises on my ride but I do talk to animals/cars etc.

Afternoon, Manatees  My neck of the woods is gearing up for 110*+ over the next couple of days. Oh yeah...summer is in full swing.

J and I did over half the IMAZ bike course on Sunday morning (doubled up on the Beeline section), but he was having some issues on the second loop. Not sure if it was fuel/hydration/sleep. I, on the other hand, felt great!

Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon driving/waiting while J worked on getting this new addition to our wheeled fleet.

Technically, I'm a holdover from last week.  That being said, I'm not letting it slow me down and am planning a 1,500 yd. swim today.  Going to use the pull buoy some so as to not aggravate my hip any more.  I swear, it feels like my entire left side is going on strike.  At this rate, I'm going to be going in circles.

I couldn't. He looked so miserable. And I worked really hard to reign in my impatience to go faster and to give him a long enough break to do some recovery.

Now I just need to learn how to ride it. Have a feeling it might be a little different than my dirt bike.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
