I just upgraded my sunglasses and bought some Tifosi Podiums. I love them. No frame along the top to get in the way of eyesight when down in aero position and yet they hold firmly enough to my face that I don't have to worry about them falling off or slipping around. Great color rendition through the lenses too...I hate sunglasses that really distort the colors of things.

I bought a decent looking pair of "cheap" sport sunglasses on eBay 2 yrs ago. From China of course, but look pretty nice, came with 5 types of lenses for different conditions, hard and soft case, and straps. Took about 4 weeks to get them, but I've had them now for 2 yrs and I paid $10-15

Same with a friend of mine who went across a hood into a windshield while riding and has the Oakley battle scars to prove it (good helmet and shatterproof) major reason for no major injuries.

Ok, then I'll repeat:

Jackson nemesis safety glasses: $6, Rated for : ANSI Z87.1 http://www.staples.com/Jackson-Safety-Nemesis-ANSI-Z871-25688-Safet...

Oakley's: $75+ "Most Oakley Eyewear meets or exceeds ANSI Z87.1" http://www.oakley.com/customer-care/faq

So, with safety as a concern...make sure whatever you get is at least rated equal to or better than $6 glasses. Not all Oakley's are.

American Safety Glasses = shatterproof, uv protect, glasses for $6-10, no reason to pay the $100 to $200 markups for the silly expensive sunglasses.

I have an older pair of Oakleys that somehow got demoted to workout sunglasses a long time ago I love them. I didn't like having the thick frame at the top because when I'm riding my bike, it's right in the center of my vision. So I either have to drop my head further to look out of the top of them or raise my head up so I can look through them normal style.
Then I bought a pair of frameless Tifosu (glasses aren't in front of me so I can't remember spelling) that minimize the vision issue. Problem with these is that they are too light when I run so they bob up and down a bit when I first start out. Extremely annoying. So I stretch them at the ear piece and that seems to help for each run.

Listen to dfroelich's advice. Just because Oakley's cost a lot does not mean that they are 1) safer or 2) provide better vision quality than a glasses that are less expensive. If you want to wear Oakley's go ahead but don't think b/c you paid more for them that they are necessarily better/safer.

When they first came in, and I opened them up, I had my doubts. So, I made sure to really put them to the test. Well, Rudy, you've made a believer out of me.
