Subject: transition bags (help)
Anyone have any good suggestion for a transition bag. I want a shoulder strapped bag that will fit: shoes, helmet, wetsuit, clothes, etc... I just want a bag that is always ready so I can grab it and go when I ride and race. Not sure what bags work real well though.

Thanks

Got a backpack at Target for $15.  Everything fits in and I strap the helmet to the outside.  Backpack is helpful because then your hands are free to move your bike around.  I really cannot stomach paying over $100 for something because its called a "transition bag"

I use this bag that they gave me free with my roadrunner sports order. It's got a few pockets and also a separate section where I can fit both my bike and run shoes.

I paid about $50 for the TYR transition pack at trisports.com. It is well worth the money. It is a durable bag with features you won't find in any normal backpack that make the pack a cheap luxury. There are mesh pockets inside for two pairs of shoes, two other mesh pockets for swimgear and a change of clothes, and a removable waterproof bag that fits a full wetsuit or swim gear. On the outside there are two insulated pockets on the side for cans or small bottles plus a mesh web to hold your helmet.

I use the bag all the time to keep my stuff organized and separate from my other sports equipment. This was the best value I found searching tons of sites and several stores.

At my race yesterday I fit the following neatly into my pack:

-bike shoes
-running shoes
-running socks
-three towels
-two pairs goggles
-earplugs
-2 swim caps
-race belt
-shirt, sweats, socks to wear after race
-bike helmet
-wetsuit
-h20 bottles(2)

Ask for Amber at Trisports if you order it, she is great:

I am a sucker and I bought in to the "official" bag concept but I am pretty happy with it. It has the right space, nooks and crannies, and waterproof spots.

I also have a "transition bag"    It's huge and fits everything, and not too expensive. I love it!

I love my TYR transition bag! I bought it two years ago, and I use it for all my workouts. It's definitely worth the money.
