Good morning! 90 minutes on the KK this morning followed by some core. Windy and cold here today--feels like a good couch and reading day! Have a good one!

Trainer time in KY too...

20 minute FTP test this morning! Too much sweat for 10 degrees outside!

Send some of that cold wind my way! Long run here (2:10) with 7 x 1 km at tempo efort with 90 second recovery jogs. I started at 5:20 AM so it wouldn't be unbearable. It was bearable, but still hot. Felt tired and had a lot of school and classwork to do so cut the afternoon swim short to 2200m of recovery stuff. Then lifeguard and other swimmers were all asking me why my workout was so short today!

Anyone who's cold is welcome to visit. Highs in low to mid 90's. it's almost always into the low 80's even when I hit the road just after 5 AM. "Winter" consists of a few weeks in January when we might not hit 90, and temps dip into the low to mid 70's early AM.

Headed out for a short run, might do a trainer ride today if the NBC Kona special is up on YouTube.

Come to ARIZONA! Beautiful 78 degrees here today!

Of course I rode the trainer though. Another day where family obligations and sleeping in took precedence.

1:50 on the trainer - various intervals!

2 main reasons why I rode my trainer today...first because I wanted to watch the final few episodes of "The Black List" season 1 and...

I got the Kurt Kinetic Inride sensor for my KK trainer and now that I got a new phone that supports it (4s or above), I HAD to try it out!

So cool riding with virtual power. I'm used to riding with power at the studio but use HR at home. Now I can use power for both - was a little eye opening and fun at the same time!!

The sweaty factor for me involves placing 2 towels underneath my bike - otherwise it's just gross!

Followed the ride with a easy 3 mile run while my 7 year old biked along. Finally got to enjoy the weather :-)!

Sounds like me.....i often ride the trainer or gym spin bike in perfectly good weather. My only viable solo road ride option is a 6 km loop of an industrial park. Not as bad as it sounds--light industry so no smokestacks, some landscaping on the back part. But can't say it's really much more interesting than a good video. Plus scary traffic and pollution on the 5 km road I have to ride to access it, especially coming back later in the morning, and occasionally idiot dogs that love to throw themselves in front of me when I'm in aero.

We actually have some really nice rural roads within 20-30 minutes of my place, but one needs to ride an MTB and go with someone who knows the routes. When I have time I sometimes do rides with a bike shop group, but they tend to be really time-consuming due to stops for noodles and drinks and lots of ferries along the routes. Often too busy to be able to spare 5 hours to do a 3 hour ride.
