Expert  1484   |  Subject: New bling on the bikesMade some component updates to the road and Tri bike for this season. Did a set of Vision wheels for both, new crank on the Tri bike, new bars, stem, and brakes on the road bike. Took the Tri bike out for a shake down ride yesterday (first TT is in a week) and set a PR on a local hard climb. The FSA crank is a lot stiffer than my SRAM Force crank that was on there and the 52/36 chain combo is great for me. Not sure I'll pop for a disc on the Tri bike, the cover works for me just fine. Did the 40mm wheels over deeper ones because every deeper wheel I've tried on that bike really gets blown around. Same wheels on the road don't, must be some fork and frame + wheel interaction. The Venge is fun to ride, I had a Jamis Xenith SL before and the Venge is a lot stiffer and more responsive. |
