5:25 AM (late start due to wasp situation) One hour easy run.

PM 3000m of swimming; lots of 100 reps. Less impressed with myself than the two kiddos (9 or 10 years old) who were there working with their coach for almost the entire time it took me to do 3K. They were there when I got there, too. A lot of technique work was involved so doubt they hit 3K but it looked like quite a workout. One little girl didn't get out of the water until I did, and kept swimming even after her coached workout was over--wondered if she was trying to match me or something!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
