I have my first tri ever in the morning and I'm just too damn excited to sleep. Somebody find me some powerful sleep meds so I can get some friggin' sleep! I've been training for this for months, and I can't believe it's about time for it to actually happen.

Ambien, you have your work cut out for you.

I hear coke and chocolate are great for that.

You could always... you know... relax yourself. Works for me!

I took one Excedrin PM the night before my first tri and I slept like a baby. I actually slept a lot less the month leading up to it than the night before.

Haha, you know, I did feel a little like that Mike Myers kid on SNL that was dragging the jungle gym behind him.

Yay for ambien, or else I might not have slept at all.

Normally I agree with that solution.  This time I don't as it could have a detrimental effect on the race performance

And no sleeping meds the night before a race.  Don't want to oversleep the alarm or be groggy in the morning.

Going to sleep the night before is generally not my problem. WAKING UP way too early has always been my problem. Did a sprint today and was awake at 1:30 a.m. Couldn't go back to sleep no matter what I did. Racing on 3 hours sleep sucks.

I know it affected my performance this morning, but there was nothing to be done other than suck it up and race. It is frustrating to spend a lot of training prep and have it not used to the max. Oh well,,,

RR later.

You mean people sleep the night before a triathlon?

Who knew?

Strange...I couldn't sleep last night either...not nervous just excited for my A race today.

I went to bed early but was up about 6 times...maybe got 4 hours sleep. I took benadryl with no help.

I have been better at sleeping before races until last night....tried to take a nap this afternoon but was unable...gosh I hope I can sleep tonight...job interview tomorrow 9am.
