Comments: Started at front so I wouldn't have to worry about going around/past others. Felt good and strong! What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: At opposite end of run in, but not too far Suit was halfway off and cap and goggles were off before getting to bike in transition. I was right by bike mount/dismount, so it was quick to get out of transition and on to bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: I think this is the fastest or close to the fastest bike average I've had in a race. I felt really good and strong and was confident I could hold the pace and still run well off the bike. Towards the end of the bike I had to slow down because there were 2 vehicles driving on the road, a car parked on the side and a biker in my way, so I had no choice. That definitely cost me a little bit of time. What would you do differently?: Maybe push even harder? Transition 2
Comments: Little fumbling getting knee brace on, but other than that, I pick up everything else (visor, fluid belt, race number belt) and put them on as I head out of transition and start running. What would you do differently?: Make sure knee brace straps are laid out as best as possible. Run
Comments: The woman who came in second was just ahead of me getting into transition, but I had a faster transition, so we started the run close together, with her in the lead and pulling away. But, I was able to get fairly close to her, but not pass her. What would you do differently?: I carried too much fluids - I only needed 1 bottle of Infinit, but also had a bottle of water - not needed especially for this distance and temperature. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: Started about 15 to 20 minutes late (which I anticipated since that happens quite often with DQ Series races), but it's still a little annoying. There were lots of beginners, including non road bikes, so I had to yell "passing" quite a bit on the bike (not sure they would understand "on your left"). I thought the bike course would be more crowded, but it wasn't, so that was nice! The course was flat and fast with plenty of volunteers. I would do this race again, especially because it is only 30 minutes from home. Last updated: 2015-08-31 12:00 AM
