Hey BT!  How the heck are ya!

Getting ready to head out for a beautiful trail run--the skies are blue, the winds are calm, should be a gorgeous run.

Have a great day everybody!

So by the time I got out to the mountain pass where I was going to run, big grey clouds had rolled in.  Being the eternal optimist that I am, I figured 'meh, if anything I'll get sprinkled on...it will be cool and refreshing!'  Three miles into my trail run the skies opened up and let loose!  I was soaked in a matter of minutes but just kept running.  I was never in danger--no lightning or anything--but the trail became so muddy so fast I had to walk the climbs because I couldn't get a grip, worse than running on snow!  Anyhow, it was an adventure!

Send some of that snow here! Rather tough day at the (training) office. Had a four-hour bike ride on tap, had planned to split it between industrial park and trainer, but when I got to the park, discovered they had ripped up the road in several places, apparently working on the water or sewer line. No go with a tri bike, especially at high (well, relatively high) speed in aero. And nowhere else in town to ride said bike with anything approaching safety, not to mention having to stop every few minutes for traffic. All dressed up (for biking) and no place to go, quite literally.

So aborted mission and back home on the trainer for the remaining 3:10. Sigh. I did have plenty of chocolate, my last Double Espresso gu, and a great video--This group of very enthusiastic German cyclists (they have become my virtual workout buddies) have dozens of these on their website, but this may well be their masterpiece:

Plus a 35 minute brick run after in approximately oven temperatures. (I think 99 at end.) Certainly earned my Sunday brunch!

Feeling confident and cocky, after finally losing some weight, I got off my back side and into triathlon.
