Subject: 8.12.16 Fantastic Friday

Good morning BT!  

8:00am:  had a glorious 50 minute OWS out at Blue--the lake was like glass, no divers or fishermen, it was heaven!

Later:  heading out on the mountain bike for a last long ride + run.  My schedule is crazy the next several days and this will be last day I can get out to ride at any kind of elevation before my Xterra next weekend in Tahoe.  Better take advantage!

Lake...good luck at Nationals!  How exciting!!!  Give 'er hell!  Safe travels!

The concert was great, lots of screaming and singing.  Had a blast!

6:00 - 30' upper body/core strength

6:40 - 1700 yard swim. It kicked my butt!

5:30am - 50 min altitude spin

had a small window to do my second training session so did one of my favorite circuits:

1 mile run (warm up)

10 push ups
10 pull ups
10 KB upright rows
10-15 high step ups or lunges with dbs
15 hanging leg raises (or other ab exercise)
800m run
repeat 5x

Then went to my chiro - been having some nasty quad pain - he said those specific muscles are on the brink of overtraining and I need to take a few days off
Sooo…I went back to the place where I taught today and did a cryotherapy session and 30 min in the Normatec boots. Hacking recovery :-)! Hope it helps!

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
