Pre-race routine:

Drove to Clinton and stayed in Hotel the night before. This put me about 30 minutes from the race. Shakeology for breakfast. Went to packet pickup and setup transition
Event warmup:

2 mile bike, 200 yard swim, and some stretches
Swim
  • 17m 38s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 21s / 100 meters
Comments:

Think I had a pretty good swim. Few sighting buoys and none before the first turn made it difficult
What would you do differently?:

Could have pushed the first 100 harder. Pushed well at the end and beat a bunch of folks to the ladder
Transition 1
  • 02m 52s
Comments:

Got passed on the run from the swim mat into transition by a lot of guys sprinting. Probably 150-200 yards to bikes.
What would you do differently?:

Guess I need to run faster to bike
Bike
  • 42m 18s
  • 14 miles
  • 19.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Few seconds faster than spring. Passed a couple in fist lap, but passed by more. Passed tons second lap but not sure who was on first and who was on second lap.
What would you do differently?:

nothing

My first triathlon was at age 56. At first I was just the cameraman at my daughter's first triathlon, then I am doing the races that she has done.
