Subject: RE: 9.18.16 Sunday Morning I did get the MTB ride in.... 3 1/2 hours of it. Pretty easy pace, as the normal ride leader never showed up, and we were just doing a ride that someone had stored on his phone from a couple of weeks ago. He didn't have a bike mount for the phone, so at every possible turn, it seemed like we were waiting while he pulled it out to check the map. Ugh! I wasn't planning a hard ride, but it was slower and more time-consuming than I'd hoped! Bet my HR never got over 120. Slower group too. We got back to the parkway and I just said I was getting really hungry, so I was going to go hard on the way back to get to breakfast faster, and had no other takers!
Dunno about this "break" stuff. I know it is good physically and mentally, but it just feels like an overly long taper. I've always been a high-energy person and without hard training, I just kind of drive myself nuts! It would be much better in Oregon with all the nice venues for hiking, climbing, pleasure riding, etc. |
