Good morning BT!  Gorgeous morning here in the desert...heading out for an 8-9 mile run with 4X1 mile hard thrown in the middle.

Karen, doing that core workout after my run today!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

2:45 - 45' ride in the easy ring. It felt like I haven't been on the bike in forever, but it was really nice to get out.

Have a great week, everyone!

Enjoy! The workout in its entirety is enough to leave me quivering for a couple of hours. Then again, I am kind of a creampuff compared to a lot of the more buff people in this sport. I'm doing all those push-ups on my knees. I think there's something wrong with me--even when I was younger and could bench-press my body weight, I've never been able to do more than 2-3 normal pushups with good form.

It looked like a beautiful day here, but brutally hot as no cloud cover until a short rainstorm around 5 PM. It hadn't rained for three days, so went with a group from the bike shop on an MTB ride, thinking trails would be dry. NOT! One stretch was mainly carrying/pushing bike through mud and water up to my knees. We got on another canal-side path which had been nice a few weeks ago, but someone (well, more than one--this appeared to go on for a couple of kilometers) had come through and cut down trees/brush but just left them there. The only way through was over the trees or through the adjacent woods, which became too jungly and buggy. Might have been doable without bikes and with bug masks, but not otherwise. First time this group has ever turned back that I can recall. Our backtrack meant several extra kilometers on the (hot, dusty, motor-bike clogged) road back to town. Anyway, 3 hours of MTB riding. Plus all that carrying the bike should count for strength work!

On the plus side, all of that water may have been due not only to rainy season but supposedly closest approach of the moon since Truman was president (most rivers and canals are tidal here). It cleared after the rain as I was walking back from the store around sunset, and the moon was HUGE!

Sounds like an epic ride HR!

Another little run, 2 miles and change plus some more strength work tonight. Have a great end to your weekends everybody.

Feeling confident and cocky, after finally losing some weight, I got off my back side and into triathlon.
