Elite  4583   |  Subject: 11.17.16 Thursday Stuff!Good morning BT! We have gone from a balmy 65-70 degree desert to a 30 degree frozen tundra--ok, I realize 30 isn't THAT cold (I grew up in Canada and North Dakota...I know cold!) but after 20 years in the desert that is cold!!! Doesn't help that the wind is howling too! 4:30am: 55 min run: 10 min WU/6X800m w 200m recovery/cool down. Followed that with some stretching and core. Called it quits early so I could get a bit of packing done before leaving for school. Immediately after school today my family is flying to Kansas City, Missouri. Tomorrow morning our older daughter is signing with a small NAIA D1 college to play softball next year! She got a great offer and we're so proud to see her reach her goal of playing college softball! We're going to hang out in Kansas City for the weekend, hit a Chiefs game on Sunday and fly home Monday. I'm going to make use of the hotel gym as best I can...but this weekend is more about family than training! Have a great day! |

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon Bronze member | Subject: RE: 11.17.16 Thursday Stuff! Congrats to your daughter--that is so cool that they are going to fly her there to sign--like the NBA or something. I wasn't a scholarship athlete in college (got recruited by plenty of schools, but not the places I wanted to go) so never had that experience--must be really neat. Send some of that cold our way! Miserably hot here plus air quality has been bad. It smells like burning...something. Not sure what, but not something natural like wood or leaves. 2600m of swimming here, twice interrupted by thunder. A colleague and I really wanted to do our workouts, so we just hung out poolside chatting until the storm finally passed over and we could get back in. |
