Pre-race routine:

PowerBar and water at 5 a.m.
Event warmup:

Walking, light stretching.
Run
  • 32m 22s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 10m 26s  min/mile
Comments:

It was seriously hot and humid out there. By the last mile the heat was really taking it's toll on me.
What would you do differently?:

I should have dumped water on my head at the last water station but I didn't think of it, it would have been worth the slight pause.
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of water and one cup of watered-down gatorade. I can't believe people were actually eating pizza after the race, I couldn't imagine putting hot pizza on my stomach at that moment.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think heat and humidity were the biggest factors.

Great race! Especially considering the humidity and all. Not to mention a top 50% finish in your age group.

Lol, I love the name of this race! Sounds fun. It WAS hot and humid out there today. Like running through a swamp! Oh- and it really does help dumping a cup of cold water on your head. I did it today at my tri and felt MUCH better.
