Good morning BT!

4:30am:  3:00 on the bike trainer--the second hour was entirely z3 into z4 builds holding above race pace...ugggh!  It was a solid session all the way around

7:30am:  :35 minute run with 4X2:00 at just above race pace---felt really good.  In all this was a kick a$$ session.

More softball today--what was supposed to be a windy and rainy day is actually looking calm and sunny--a good omen for the games!

Karen, congrats on the new apartment--once you have your bike studio set up, post a pic!

Have a great day!

Good morning all!

Sounds like a solid workout Kim!

60 minutes outside run today with dog, 7 sets of 10K race pace X 1 minute built in with easy Z2.

Off to the pool later today to try out the new GoPro for some swim video instruction.

Wow, great start to the day, Kim. Few things are better than a solid run coming off a good bike workout.

7:40 - 30 mile ride, with the second half to be faster than the first. Second half was about 6' faster than the first, and all in all, felt good.

Off to the kiddo's t-ball game, and then tonight, to the Rangers game. A day of baseball! Have a good one!

Nice workouts everybody !!  This AM I had perfect running conditions after taking an unscheduled recovery day yesterday.  Overnight showers cleared the air, and conditions were cool and crisp with cloud cover and slightly damp trails.  First 5.5 miles had 1100 feet of climbing, then finished out a 13.1 mile effort with 1500 feet of total climbing in a 1:57.  Very, very solid run for me.  This afternoon I will do 40-45 minutes of swimming on the tether.

1.5 hour bike workout on the new rollers. This was my first real workout on the rollers with the clip in bike shoes. The rollers add such a huge element of instability it was hard to stick to the Trainer Road workout. I also tried to look behind me that resulted in a immediate crash. Used this session as a bike adjustment session in between the 4x6 sessions.

Followed that with my typical 3.6 mile run, although today was not so typical. I PR'd the mile at 7:47, the 2 mile at 16:38 and the 5k at 27:14. Admittedly we are having some wind gusts up to 30mph so they where pushing at backside on part of the run.

Yikes--I am tired just reading that trainer session! Good job on getting through that and running well off the bike. Sounds like things are coming together in time for your race.

Getting motivated for a 2:15 ride here.

Rather tough long run here (1:40) since I got started too late. Just could not fall asleep Friday night (think I got overheated apartment-hunting) and didn't want to do it on too little sleep. But maybe should have and then taken a nap later. Bunch of tempo pickups and by the last few, thought I would melt into a grease spot on the pavement. 83 with 90% humidity when I finished, before 8:30 AM. Ugh! 1200m of easy recovery swimming later.

SO GLAD I am not doing Vietnam 70.3 this year. I will probably be moving that weekend, and the heat now is reminding me of why I don't like that race. Just hoping for no freaky weather at Coeur de' Alene!

Haha--I will when I have to. Too many reasons, both personal and professional, to explain here.

Sorry to hear about the crash on the rollers, but stick with them, I absolutely love mine. I have a power trainer but if I want to get a different kind of workout I throw my roadie on my rollers and go.
