Quick background: I'm moving to Miami and will start training to compete on a 70.3 next year. I hate running, but I'll get there. I do ride at least 150 miles/week on my bike
(Specialized Roubaix 56cm
) and did some swimming for the past two years, but now I just want to put it all together.
Because biking is my preferred poison, I thought about getting a tri bike, but I won't be in Miami until early September, which makes me hard to take advantages of some deals I already found on eBay. Given the fact that fitting rules the tri world, and I'm scared of simply getting a 56 based on my road bike only to realize it's too big or a 54 and find out it's too small.
Last November, I did get a Retul for my current bike and have my Anthropometrics from the analysis.
I'm 1.83
(6'0?
) and my anthropometrics are as follows:
Thigh lenght L/R: 455mm/453mm
Shin lenght L/R: 436mm/415mm
Hip-Wrist Vertical L/R: -80mm/-52mm
Hip-Wrist Forward L/R: 704mm/721mm
Hip-Elbow Vertical L/R: 62mm/56mm
Hip-Elbow Forward L/R: 492mm/497mm
Now, I know I have no idea what any of these means, but hopefully somebody would be able to translate this into english and help me decide on which bike
(And size
) I should get.
My candidates are:
* Cervelo P3 2014~2017
* Trek Speed Concept 9.9 2015
* mmmmmaybe a Shiv, if you guys think given my measurements, I should get a shorter/taller bike
What do you guys think I should get?
PS: In case you're wondering why don't I just ask the why who did the fitting for me last year? He vanished from the face of the earth and since I'm still stuck in South America, the closes Retul shop is in another country via a 5-hour flight. ¯\_
