Anyone? We got a good rain in SA and that's about it. The big rain just never quite made it.

All my friends in Houston that I've managed to get in touch with are OK so far. My MIL is visiting NY, so we aren't sure how her house is today. Yesterday the water was reported by neighbors to be almost up to the house. Release of water from Addicks dam might put her under.

How about Houston BTers? You guys faring well?

I've been down there for a few days with my rescue team and got back yesterday morning. Corpus, Rockport, La Marque (just below Houston). It's total devestation down there. Levees are staring to break within the last hour is what I'm reading. I left Houston at 11pm and didnt get back to Austin until 6am because we had to find different routes on side roads. I-10 was shut down all over the place.

I have a few colleagues that live in the Houston area, and we haven't heard from some of them (presumably because their cell phones are dead and/or cell towers aren't working).  50 effing inches of rain - that doesn't even sound possible.

Cell service is still functioning down there, so hopefully their batteries are just depleted.
