OK so the weather in KY has taken an turn for the nasty. Sunday they are calling for showers and temps in the 50s in the am. What are some tips out there for the bike and the transition

Pull up some of the recent Ironman Wisconsin race reports and see what people wore for clothes - nasty conditions. I paid the price for gambling on just wearing my tri top and shorts and was cold. I would have killed for my bike rain jacket during the race. If your race is a short one I wouldn't worry about it as much. Good luck.

I think I'd turn the alarm off, roll over and go back to sleep...

Something I'm all to familiar w/ Wink

Bike - avoid the painted lines - very slick, I learned the hard way.  Just be prepared for all of it: slower on all turns, maybe less aero so your hands on the brakes more. Take it easier than normal and make it up on the run. It's just not worth crashing.

Trans - not much you can do if it's pouring other than putting an extra pair of socks and your sneakers in a plastic bag. Even tho on a bad day they don't stay dry for long it's worth it. I tend to  take my time in these conditons dry off, collect  yourself  and ensure your set for the next leg.  Rain is also the only time I wear a hat  on the run.

Hydrate - I tend to have a hard time taking in fluids when I'm gettin drenched on the outside. Make a conscious effort to keep drinking.

Finally, I think as noted above a lot of it is mental. You've got to give in to Mother Nature once in a while. Accept that you're gonna get wet and your time is going to be a little slower and you'll be able to get as much enjoyment as possible. Good luck!

I hope he's kidding. Rain is not reason to not start. Lightening yeah, but rain no. That's part of the reason we start in the water - gets us acclimated Smile

Get some of the oversized ziploc bags for your stuff - they're big enough to get a pair of shoes in so your stuff can stay dry.  I'd also bring a second set of socks for the run - changing them out will cost you some time, but beats running in wet socks.
