Subject: Winter maintenance?
I competed (for the first time) in 2 sprint tris in SC at the end of this '06 season. I am looking for a winter maintenanace program or suggestions. I am planning on competeing in a few sprints at the beginning of next season and then olympic and halfs throught the rest of the '07 season. Should I do a maintenance program or use a 20 week training program (with a few added easy weeks) that is "swim focused" (my weak sport) since the next tri I am planning on competeing in will be early March? Any and all suggestions welcome! Thanks!

Definitely work on your limiter...which appears to be swimming as you say.  Some weight-training and core work would be good to do if you don't do those already.  You can read a few links to those at: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=631

At the minimum, you can use any of the free plans here and recycle the last 2 months for something basic as a winter maintenance (don't start all over at the beginning)

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=28 for Sprints

Then when it's time to start training for the olympic race, you can start at http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=29
