Steph W. and I live in Edmond....I have never seen or heard about an indoor tri in Oklahoma. The closest I've seen is a tri with a pool swim.

I'm signed up as well. I have a question for anyone about the bike. This is my first indoor triathlon, so I've been training on an upright bike. I've measured and it seems that no matter what cadence I pedal, the time to complete a certain distance is only determined by the wattage setting. Is this true for all bikes?

I asked a YMCA employee who showed me the "course" and he said they are bringing in new Nautilus bikes to use.

For those who haven't been to the Downtown Y, the pool has five lanes. They will run two people per lane (depending on sign up). You then have two flights of stairs to WALK up into a small gym - where the bikes will be set up. Then you will move into another gym for the run. 14 laps per mile on a semi-narrow track surrounding equipment. You will have a counter for each section.

I don't know how to answer your question about the bikes.  I am not sure how that works.  But thanks for all of the information!  Its good to know about that ahead of time.

Looks like the tri is NOT cancelled! - judging from the email I received with heat times this morning. You all be careful driving here in the ice & snow. I guess I'm fortunate to only live a mile away.

A sixth place age group finish would be my best yet (only five others entered)
