Anyone else out there having issues with the CycleOps fluid trainers? Mine won't seat correctly (poorly designed skewers) and causes bike to rock back and forth. Was on BT chat last night and several of us had the same issue.

Wondering who else is having the the same problem and what they did to fix it.

Hi! Yes, I used the skewer that came with the trainer and also have the CycleOps block. Even tried tightening down the bolt with a wrench.

If my skewer isn't seated properly in the mount on my trainer, my bike will wobble.  I don't have the Cyclops, but it sounds like you're having a similar issue to what I experienced when I first bought my Nashbar trainer.  Just check to make sure the skewer is seated in the support cups on either side of the trainer, and if there is a lock-ring on the side that tightens ensure that the lockring is properly seated as well.

Mine works fine.  Make sure the skewer is tighted in the bracket correctly.

Make sure your bike is is standing up straight, then rock the seat, It should be solid. If the bike still wobbles, crank it down a little more. Most likely the bike isn't perpendicular to the ground when you lock it down. Put a bubble level on it if you can't seem to eyeball it!! Also is it broken in yet? The first couple hours it will tend to slip some until it is broken in. This feels a little like a wobble too. I'm not sure, but I think there are 2 different holes you can screw the locking "arm" into as well.

I have the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine, but I had a similar problem... make sure the skewer is correctly aligned with the mounting points on the trainer. You might have to flip your skewer to make sure it's seated properly... I know on my trainer it'll only fit correctly one way.

I had to fuss with the pin/knob on the right hand side, there are 3 or 4 different mounting points, and the screw adjustment for the left sided mount. I played with them both until the bike was in the middle ofthe roller in the back. it works fine. My trainer problem is with the wheel which has a little hop in it and the wheel makes a thumping noise, it's actually nto the trainer at all.

I have the same problem. it's not bad except when i am standing to work on climbing. it's even on the floor-it's the bike that's wobbling. It's almost like it's not tight enough, but i've already checked the arm and i think it's on it's tightest setting.

It doesn't really bother me except i worry that it will bend something on the trainer or the bike...what does anyone else think or know about this?

I had this problem and my conclusion was that the skewer they give you is crappy.  I went to my local LBS and bought another skewer for the trainer and it works perfectly.  The one that came with the trainer was tapered at one end and the one I got from my LBS was not.  I know this probably helps none what so ever, but I thought I'd let you know you aren't the only one.  Maybe check out your LBS and see what they have.

LBS = Local Bike Shop

I'm not sure what kind of skewer it is but I'll take a pick of the one that came with the trainer and the one I bought so you can see the difference that I've taking about.
