Age Group Rank = 0/
Event warmup:

Brief swim warm up before start
Swim
  • 1h 06m 23s
  • 4224 yards
  • 01m 34s / 100 yards
Comments:

Made good use of current and tide information; little to eat before race; concentrated on staying long and on front quadrant swimming, with full body rotation; no kicking until after Ft. Gorges, left me strong at finish; used alternate breathing nearly the entire race
What would you do differently?:

More Body Glide on outside of shoulders, inside of elbows (got badly chafed); better check of goggles before race; too far outside buoy at end of race; should have gone farther into current;
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Still need experience generating higher stroke rate while maintaining efficiency

That's a lot of swimming in 59 deg. water!  Amazing!
