Subject: Excitement and Confusion with the 305
I recieved my Garmin 305 today. Loaded up the training program and its horrible. The map option? Is there anything I can do to get a better map? What would be a good starting set up for the watch so it wont be going crazy on my first run. These are the first of many questions to come in the next couple days.

my advice to you is to ditch(forget about) the program they give you and go download SportTracks. It is what a lot of garmin users use instead of the clunky software garmin provides. it is developed by a bunch of forerunner/edge users that wanted a bit more from their end product.

http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/

it is free, for your information. their forum is very active also, and they update the software quite a bit based on user feedback.

Do you still have the box?  OK, here is what you do.  Put it back in the box and send it to me.  Done.

You will have no more issues or questions.

I love the 305. Just got back from the first run. I love it. Now I have to get in a figure out all the data.
