So, I'm just starting to pay attention to my hr. I have a new 305 and I'm trying to figure out my zones. I'm 36 years young, female, and my resting hr is 58 avg.

When I run I avg around 165 but max at 179. Is that too high for a long run??? I'm so lost with all these numbers, it's not making a lot of sense to me.

I really want to see improvement this year, especially in my run. HELP!

Here's a link to a thread that will answer most of your questions about HR zones:

Don't worry about max HR.  What you need to know is your Lactatic Threshold.  This will give
you a basis for your zones.  Everyones zones are different and they change so there is no "too high".  However, most beginners have a tendancy to train too hard on easy days and not hard enough on hard days.  Knowing your zones will help you train to the right level.

Enjoy the thread.

In addition to that link (assuming it's the "220-Age..." thread that always gets referenced), I found this book to be a good resource for getting started as well... very easy to follow and understand.
