Pre-race routine:

Woke about an hour before I needed to hit the road. Ate a Clif bar and drank a protein shake.
Event warmup:

+-9 miles at a slow pace. This was close to a total of 14 mile day as part of my marathon training. I ran 7 miles then met up with Mark at my house. When ran to the park for the race.

hehehehehehe!  Crazy people running a 5k as part of their LSD!  Crazy in a good way though!    I tried to get my girlfriend to do this on her LSD, but she said I was nuts.  I think it is a great idea!

and by the way, great pic, you look good and strong..... right behind the 76 year old woman.... i had to laugh, such a great picture of you, but, it just somehow diminishes it coming in behind gramma!!! no worries, i know the rest of the story, she hadn't already clocked in 10 miles that morning and probably didn't run to get to the race !! kudos on you 14 miles yesterday!!!!
