How is everyone doing? I start my official 20 week training program this week. As for the last 8 weeks, I have been training relatively consistently, but really listening to my body and getting ready for the next 20 weeks. I have been trying to make it stress free as I know there will be built up stress over the next few months. Good Luck and keep trucking away.

The race is the easy part, its the journey that shows a true ironman.

I did your race last year, and am so envious of what you are about to achieve. Enjoy the experience!

Are you doing the BT Iron plan?

I jumped into the 2nd week of a 30 wk plan at the beginning of the year (so it's a 29 week plan...). It was a nice gentle base building period up til this week (and up until I decided to bungle it up on my own)....beIRONfit's program.

Starting tomorrow, the plan has me going into the Build Phase...

So, so far so good.

I guess it's also time for me to do another set of time trials to see how the fitness is coming along. OUCH.

I am using MAO too. Looking forward to starting the plan tomorrow.

I took the day off today so I could be lazy one more day before it all starts!

I also started my plan today. I have been kind of lazy lately (week of surfing and drinking Medailla in Puerto Rico) so it shoud be a shock to my system.

I am with a trainer who gives me 3 to 4 week blocks at a time so I can't see too much into the future with it and get too scared!

I did notice a change in the last couple of weeks of adding some more intense stuff and she told me I was moving into Base 2

Holy cr@p! Guess I knew that, but it freaks me out a bit to see it in "print." That's OK, anxiety is good. I've been sticking to the same plan I used last time, except that all of my biking has been indoors so far. The bike course is what almost killed me off last time (first time), so I'm really eager to start some real riding. Can't wait for some ice-free roads.

I was definitely pumped to see the "20 week" marker.  I have been trying to follow BeIronFit, but have been pretty wishy-washy about it.  this week, I feel a definite sense of "time to get serious"!

20 weeks. actually 19.

I am up the proverbially excrement creek without a paddle. I've been totally slacking for the past 2 months and really doing nothing for the past 2 weeks  and Now I've injured myself. D'OH!

Going to the DR tonight. Hopefully he'll give me some good news.

Just finished week 2 of the BT Iron plan.  I'm trying to remain patient.  I know I can do more than the plan calls for but I don't want to get hurt or burn out.   I think I need to ask Mike for ways to change the plan to add in more bike time.  I'm pretty confident in the swim and run but I know I'm going to be slow on the bike.

I've learned that Ironman training involves a lot of changing clothes.  I'm getting a lot of naked time but not the in way I'd hoped.

Race day is 125 days away.  It's just a swimming and running event right ?  Because I'm ready for those two events right now.

It's the bike part that is worrying me.  That darn groundhog lied- where's this spring we're supposed to be getting?  17 more weekends until race weekend and I'm not enjoying going 21+ on the downhills right now and I've heard it's tough to keep it under like 35 on some parts of that big downhill to Keene.  Snow, ice, and cold meant only a very short bike ride last weekend. I need some 45+ degree weekends without tropical storm like winds blowing me across the road (even a headwind wouldn't be so bad).  At least I should have at least 9 hours to make the bike cutoff...

Keep it up with the training everyone- you're all looking so good on the bike at least from those of you guys whose logs I've seen, at least compared to me
