Need some help and experience finding a new forward seat post. I'm riding a road bike and want to retro a post because it feels like my legs are spinning way in front of me and my arm angle is way to large. For those of you who have purchased or used them do u have any advice. I'm 6'1" and have read that may make a difference in which post to use. Thanks, Matt

Are you trying to make a bike that doesn't fit, fit?

The reason I ask is because if your bike fits, and you add a forward seat post, you will effectively shorten the top tube length and be scrunched in the cockpit. You do say "my arm angle is way to large," which indicates to me that maybe your bike doesn't fit, and that shortening the top tube length would make it fit better.

Anyway, there are some folks on here that have the Profile Design Fast Forward Seatpost:

It sounds like your bike doesn't fit to begin with.

You're 6'1", how big is your bike?

Have you ever been fitted to it?

its a 59 cm KHS. No it has not been fitted to me, that was for next years budget. This has only been my first year at tri's and I only do it to stay in shape. I did 3 this summer and thought I'd try something for the fourth and final of the year.

It sounds like it may be too big (a little) I'm 6'2" and ride a 58cm. Without knowing the particulars (TT length and your actual measurements) this is a stab in the dark. I got fitted this past winter and ended up with a shorter, rising stem.

I'm going to assume that you have slid your saddle all the way forward??

You might try a shorter stem before going with a forward seat post. The Profile post represents a RADICAL change in your geometry. There are some others that have less of a bend. Ask at your LBS too.
