Subject: 1st Annual Team Turbo Donkey Blessing of the Burros

Sunday April 1st.  Hope/plan is for a ride past the sacred donkey's hovel on Donkey Pass in hope of receiving a blessing EEEAWWW, roughly a 20 miler.  I have clearance to have this at my place from the Mrs but need to know the following:

1.  Are you coming to the event?

2.  Whatcha drinking?

3.  Does qdoba burrito bar sound good for post game?  Between that and drinky poos thinking about 15-20 per donkey.  SO's and fam are invited but need numbers for logistic reasons/getting enough snacks and such.  The ride should have us at my place about 12:30 if we start at 11am (being generous here) and then suds and grub, meet everyone.  An alternate plan I thought is having this at a bar in the area by me (New Berlin/Muskego).  I have some ideas for games too.  Thoughts?

PS- Team Turbo Donkey is welcome to all who adhere to being stubborn and steady and finding their inner burro.  It is not so much a team as a way of life.  Group runs and rides in Milwaukee/Waukesha are will be on the rise as the mercury is.  If interested in joining us, shoot me an inspire or PM.  EEEAWWW!!!

PPS- I think Rob and Mrs Yams are coming up Saturday night as well.  If anyone is game for throwing down zimas and jolly ranchers two days in a row, lets figure something out.

1. Yes.

2. Anything other than Zima.

3. Yes.

P.S.  Running a half mary Sat a.m. with other Donkeys, but other than that, the girlie will be in another country so I'm in for something Sat nite, so long as Yams doesn't get too friendly with the Love Sac.

Any Donkey drinking anything with alcohol in it must first have a ceremonial Zima with Jolly Rancher of their choosing before moving to something else.  If you are not drinkin, so be it, but before you pass to normal beers and such, one must sip of the sacred drink.  How it has become that way, I do not know.  But we will pride ourselves on obscure traditions and lore to pass down to other Donkeys.

1)I'll be there for the afterparty but won't be able to make the ride.  But I'll pray for you guys...(trust me, I've tried to think up a good reason to skip out and be there for the ride, but it's Palm Sunday that day...)

2)I'm not much of a drinker (normally stick to diet soda and water), but I've never tried Zima, so I'll give that a shot.

3)I'm not horrifically picky when it comes to food, so whatever is fine by me.  It'll just be me as I have no SO

As one of the south of the border representatives of the Order of the red bike, I would love to attend these get togethers but its tough enough just getting the time to do the workouts.  I will be with you in spirit and I hope a donkulastic time is had by one and all!

Am a rep of the Order of the old black road bike with lime green trim and would like to find out what it takes to be a member of Team Turbo Donkey.

I'm sure I've been called a before, so I might as well be a Turbo Donkey also.

What is folks' cold tolerance for Sunday once the weather gets realistic again as far as what temp is your worst you will ride outside in?  Thinking a plan B could be some Crankdaddys action?

Forecast looks like high 40's at the moment, I could go either way at that temp.

I'm in, at least for the food and drink. The ride will depend on how the legs feel after Saturdays run.

Have a great weekend everyone!  My daughter turns TWELVE on Sunday.  After palm Sunday mass we've got a lunch/get together with relatives for her.  Unfortunately, that means I'll have to miss the ceremonial alms-giving to the donkey with jszat and the rest of you on Sunday.  Have a good time, and if the donkey is visible, give it a good eeee aaawwwwwww for me.

Ride? Today? Is that some kind of joke? I just got back from a $20 Walgreens run for Tylenol and Ibuprofen.   This is Gods way of saying I shouyld not run 13.1 miles. However, I'll be there for the post ride feast.

maggyruth - 2007-04-01 6:53 AM wth are scotcheroos?

awesomely goodness, thats what! Cool  It was nice to meet you today, maggy!  Same goes to all the other donkeys that were there!  The ride was truly epic.  Winds 20+ w/ gusts 35+ (I think) rain and maybe even a little sleet/hail that was pelting out faces.  We a got a pic of us on the ride.  Ill try to post it tomorrow if another donkey doesnt beat me to it.

Scotcharoos are awesome.  If I had been thinking the whole second pan of 'em would have been in my car before I left!  Frown
