Pre-race routine:

I should have a routine??
Event warmup:

None
Swim
  • 13m 32s
  • 500 yards
  • 02m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

I did better on the swin in than I anticipated, but it felt horrible. I felt out of control the entire time.
What would you do differently?:

Swim more.
Transition 1
  • 03m 28s
Comments:

What do you mean I am not supposed to be putting makeup on during the transitions? Have you ever seen some of the guys who do triathlons?
What would you do differently?:

I would not wear socks to bike and have my shoes ready to go. Yea, yea, yea, I know is sounds simple, but the anxiety prevented my synapses from firing correctly during the day of the race.
Bike
  • 42m 56s
  • 12 miles
  • 16.77 mile/hr
Comments:

I biked so much of it by myself I started to daydream. I didn't push myself nearly enough.
What would you do differently?:

Use a heart monitor while training.
Transition 2
  • 02m 9s
What would you do differently?:

I now know that I should be taking my feel out of my shoes prior to getting off the bike and then leaving the shoes clipped in. I am going to have to practice this one... I have short arms.
Run
  • 29m 41s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

This was the worst run I have even had in my entire life... no, I take that back.. I didn't puke like I saw some other gal do. But, it still was so bad it was rediculous.
What would you do differently?:

Next time I would do what I call running... force myself to run stronger. I had it in me... I think I was just scared. Yea, that's it, I scared myself into sucking. It is so a mind over matter thing... the matter got the best of me. I think confidence on my next one will allow for a much more successful run.

Your race report is .... not too verbose but a great first post anyway.  Great times too.

Laura,

Nice job on the finish. Your times are strong. There are at least 3 others of us from BT who particpated in the PTC (see race reports for Tplauche, Aims, Motivated). The Atlanta contingent is growing!

Welcome.

Hey there...
I didn't set up my profile, a friend did. I finally had the opportunity to update it. Thanks for the kind words. Seriously, I know my time wasn't good at all, but I sure do appreciate the encouragement. The good part is that my time can only improve.
